Announcement of ICCR scholarships for the academic year 2016-17

PRESS RELEASE

                The Government of India is offering four (04) scholarships under the General Scholarship Scheme (GSS) and Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP) / Education Exchange Programme (EEP) to meritorious students from Belarus for the academic year 2016-17. Students wishing to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate degrees, or research as well as classical dance and music at Indian Universities can apply for the scholarship. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) administers this scholarship scheme.

               The scholarship covers all courses except medical-related (MBBS, MD, MS, BDS, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Anaesthesia, etc.) and fashion-related courses. The Embassy can assist in providing information regarding the educational institutions and the various courses offered in India.

               The candidates should meet the following selection criteria: (i) the candidate should have the eligibility (qualification) to apply for the course; (ii) should be proficient in English; and (iii) should not have serious health problems. Priority will be given to students who have never studied in India before. Applicants who intend to study B.E/B.Tech courses, must ensure that they have studied Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) in their school leaving examinations as this is mandatory for Engineering courses.  Applicants are also advised to do due diligence and research on the specific admission criteria laid down by the various Universities for each course and ensure that they submit all relevant documentation as required by the Universities in addition to the certificates mentioned in the ICCR Scholarship Application Form.         

               The scholarship covers Tuition Fees, Living Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Contingent Grant.  For the science courses, the expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges will be borne by the scholars themselves. Please note that airfare will NOT be provided to the scholars under this scholarship scheme. Candidates applying for doctoral/post-doctoral course should attach a synopsis of proposed area of research. Candidates who wish to study performing arts should attach video/audio cassettes of their performance.

               The completed application (two sets) form as per the guidelines, along with the relevant enclosures and five additional passport size colour photos should be submitted to the Embassy of India, Minsk at the address given below, latest by 20th December 2015.
